Market Applications

Are you interested in becoming a vendor for the Prescott Farmers Market?

The Prescott Farmers Market is open to growers from Yavapai County. All products sold at the market must be grown and/or produced by the vendor. No reselling is permitted. Other food vendors from Arizona are also welcome: all processed food must contain 10% AZ-grown ingredients, and crafts must contain 80% locally-grown agricultural product. Community information booths are also welcome at the market. All vendor applications must be reviewed by the Vendor Selection Committee and are subject to inspection at the beginning of the season. All applicants must be accepted in writing before they can attend the Prescott Farmers Market.

please read below for more details and follow the link for the appropriate application

Vendor Application

The Prescott Farmers Markets are open to vendors from Yavapai County who grow their own products, and some food vendors from Arizona who produce their own products with Arizona-grown ingredients.  The Vendor Selection Committee will review all applications to the market.  You must be approved by the committee before attending the market. Any applicants who are denied will receive a full refund. Please read the 2011 Rules and Regulations for more information about the logistics of the market; below are some of the highlights:

Arizona-grown rule for processed foods and crafts:  We require that all vendors use a minimum of 10% Arizona- grown/produced ingredients in their processed food products, and 80% Arizona-grown agricultural product in their craft items.  This ensures that all of the vendors at the market are working toward our mission of supporting local agriculture.  Please don’t be scared by this, we want to help all vendors comply. Please complete a product plan by listing all ingredients in your products along with your sources (where you purchase from). In addition be prepared to show receipts at the time of your inspection. We will accept this percentage as volume, weight or number of ingredients in the ingredient list.  We can also help you to source Arizona ingredients.  Although the market itself is a great source for local products, ingredients do not need to come from vendors at the market – they can come from any Arizona source, whether from small growers, large producers, or retail establishments, as long as it can be traced back to an Arizona source.  Please call us with any questions or concerns.  We are confident that all who are willing can comply with this rule.

Special Events Permit:  All vendors must complete a Special Events Permit Application and return it to the Yavapai County Health Department.  You may need to pay the fee for this permit if you sample foods at the market or sell prepared or processed foods.  It is the vendor’s responsibility to make sure this is complied with, as the health department does enforce the rule. Please call the Yavapai County Community Health with any questions at 928-771-3149.

Inspections:  During the first week of the market the manager will have each vendor sign up for a day and time on the inspection schedule.  Inspections will be from May – July, and certain weeks will be scheduled for Phoenix vendors.  Please be sure to have your receipts available for review during the inspection.

Application and Fees: Please return your application by April 15th.  Late applicants will be charged a $25 late application fee. This will give us time to complete some inspections as well as update the website before the market starts.  Please attach a completed crop plan or product plan.  If you have both types of products, fill out both forms. The booth fee is $50 per booth; this fee covers all three markets.  All vendors also pay 10% of their sales to the market, at the end of each market day.

Insurance: All vendors are required to either provide a copy of general and product liability insurance, naming Prescott Farmers Market, Inc., as additionally insured.

Weights: all tents are required to have 20 lbs. of weight on each leg. Vendors will be required to take their tent down if this rule is not complied with.

Community Booth Application

Community booth spaces are available for new vendors for up to 4 weeks. While new growers are welcome to apply as regular vendors, this space is intended to help make it easier for  new, small-scale producers to come to the market. The market will provide a shared tent and 4'x2' table space for Community Vendors.

Please return your application by April 15th with a completed crop plan. There is no booth fee, just the customary 10% of sales.

Insurance: All vendors are required to either provide a copy of general and product liability insurance, naming Prescott Farmers Market, Inc., as additionally insured or vendors must sign the enclosed indemnification agreement.

Non-Profit Organization Application

The Prescott Farmers Markets are open to non-profits that support the mission of the market. The Vendor Selection Committee will review all applications to the market.  You must be approved by the committee before attending the market. Please read the enclosed rules and regulations for more information about the logistics of the market.

We would also like to invite you to consider helping with one or more special events throughout the season. While various ideas have been tried in the past, we have found that presentations, workshops, and kid’s activities are a great success when sponsored by our non-profit vendors. This involvement may include creating and planning a special event relevant to your organization, and/or hosting or monitoring the activity at or near your booth. These events have been proven to be a great and creative way to bring more people to the market, and to help non-profit organizations increase their audience by directly involving market-goers. Please let us know if you have any questions or ideas for a special event.

Please return your application by April 15th. This will give us time to update the website before the market starts. Please briefly describe your mission and what your organization will be doing at the market.  Please include all relevant information.

Insurance: All vendors are required to either provide a copy of general and product liability insurance, naming Prescott Farmers Market, Inc., as additionally insured or vendors must sign the enclosed indemnification agreement.

Weights: all tents are required to have 20 lbs. of weight on each leg. Vendors will be required to take their tent down if this rule is not complied with.

We are planning on another great market season filled with good fresh food, music and lots of fun!  Please return your completed application and fees as soon as possible. Volunteering

The PFM depends on our volunteers, from our hard-working board of directors to those that help set up the market each week. Many of the farmers and producers of the market, along with some very invested community members, spend enormous amounts of time to organize and grow the Prescott Farmers Market. Here are some things we need volunteers to help with:

Market set-up/tear-down:

Vendors and the market managers always appreciate folks that offer to help at the beginning or the end of the market day. Needs include: setting up tents, displaying vegetables or other goods, setting up for guest musician and chef, and putting it all away again.

Special events planner:

Our markets are fun for everyone because of the special events that happen throughout the season, and volunteers are needed to: brainstorm ideas, plan events, be an extra hand during events, oversee the kids' activities, teach workshops, and clean up.

Musicians:

The market features local musicians each week, and we would love to include more of you! From solo acts to full-size bands, you are welcome to apply to play at either the Prescott or Chino Valley markets by sending us a demo tape at: PO Box 1853, Prescott, 86302, or attaching sample songs to an e-mail. We welcome any "listener-friendly" genres of music, and prefer those that can play accoustic.

Chef demos:

If you are interested in showing off your cooking skills, handing out samples, and meeting some great folks at the chef booth, talk to us about being a guest chef! All kinds of dishes can be made from the vendors' donations, and we welcome creative cooks with a passion for local food.

Recipe archivist:

We want to archive our favorite recipes and have them available on the website! Skills needed: organization, willingness to collect recipes from vendors and customers, and decent typing skills.

If you would like to be informed of board meeting times, attend a meeting, or you would like to volunteer, email the manager This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call 928-713-1227.
